Arnold robot standins and Maya animation

This is just the end clip of a commercial. The robots are CAD data that was cleaned with Maya and shaded with Arnold.
Since the CAD data was quite complex, the robots were imported to the scene as Arnold standins with animation. The animation was then just offset for a few frames.

CAD cable harness and crowded car scenes with Maya and Arnold

For this commercial we animated some cable harness, that get embeded in some CGI cars. 
The cable were originally CAD data. Unfortunately the CAD data was too complex to get rigged and be animated. Hence the cables were just remodelled extruded tubes with the CAD plugs attached to them. 
The rig was just a simple bone setup with many joints and without any control curves. 

The crowded scenes with all the animated cars were animated Arnold stand-ins. The crowd animation with all the people were created using Adobe Fuse. The animation was motion capture data, that was prerigged and animated with Mixamo. 

Here is a  deleted scene, which showed how an electronic plug is used. The 3D is completely CAD data on filmed backplate footage.

Live Action presenter in a Maya modeled environment rendered with Arnold

For this clip I modeled the background and did the shading, lighting and animation.
The concrete textures came from arroway textures. The shading was done with Arnold.

Some live action and CGI cars rendered with Arnold

For this project I was resposible for shading lighting and the 3D content. Modeled the 3D background, which was just some  randomly placed cubes and other polygon primitives textured with concrete images from arroway textures.
The car model was bought at turbosquid.

Robot arm animation with Maya and mental ray

Created the complete 3D animation. 
The room was custom modelled in Maya and rendered with metnal ray. The robot was CAD data, which was cleaned with Maya. Some parts like the robot pipes were added to the CAD data. 
The rigging was also done with Maya and the complete animation shaded and rendered with mental ray.

This was just a test. The Robot was CAD data and rigged with Maya. The shading was done with Arnold. The outlines are just Maya´s toon outlines.

CAD robot animation and toon shading with mental ray / part 2

This was the same project as the other film we created at Fiction Films GmbH. 
The rigging of the CAD data was done in Maya and shaded with mental ray. 
Animated the complete film. 
Motion graphics and compositing were done by a colleague.

CAD robot animation and toon shading with mental ray

Did the 3D for this project. The robot was CAD data imported and cleaned with Maya. 
The shading was done with mental ray. Arnold didn´t have  any outline shader back in the time. 
The wheels were rigged individually, since the robot locomotion is quite special, where each wheel can rotate in its own speed to turn the robot. 
The wheels were just key animated for each shot.
